Probably because a quick glance at the bottom of the Championship warns them against wishing for a season down there to regroup and win every week.

The sad truth is the club is now infested with self rightious do-gooders, board apologists, and delicate Ruperts seeking safe spaces. No matter what happens, the future of this club with those embarrassments on board looks bleak.
Saturday's events were the only bright spark in a painfully drab and apathetic season, but will count for fuck all if doesn't continue.

Re: The Man with the Corner Flag - Paul Colborne
At least the supporters who got on the pitch made a stand and got the ball rolling (more than the players did). This then went on to the protest and now the press are finally getting the truth out there about the the lying scumbag board. I'm with Lilly Hammer and the majority of our supporters on this, our identity is far more important than what division we're in.
The sooner them no-good shysters fuck off out of it, the better. And we've all gotta show em that we're a united West Ham on this. We're a different breed to anyone else they've dealt with, which I'm sure they're gonna find out.

Talking to a Grimsby Town season ticket holder of many years this morning, he couldn't see what the fuss was about, he's seen far worse pitch invasions at Blundell Park, FFS!

Re: The Man with the Corner Flag - Paul Colborne
He ran on with the flag at 2-0 did he not?, and some think we could have come back, have any of you who think like this been watching West ham this season, especially our last 5 games?.

I can understand anyone who say's he was wrong or a dick etc etc etc for doing what he did but to blame anyone even the first ones who ran onto the pitch for the result is a joke, so who was to blame for the 4-1 3-0 3-1 4-1 results?

Grumpster 12:08 Tue Mar 13
Re: The Man with the Corner Flag - Paul Colborne
They'll probably punish him by giving him a 5 year season ticket, when the best outcome for him would be a lifetime ban from that stadium.

Re: The Man with the Corner Flag - Paul Colborne
The consequence is he rallied so many of our troops that it was worth the three points. Losing this one won't be what sends us down, it will be losing to Brighton and Swansea, and if we lose to Southampton.

I want us to stay up, but the struggle to retain our identity is more important to me. The team have receieved non stop support for these last two seasons, depsite teh shit football. This is the first and only time they've had to deal with the fans giving a clear message by going on the pitch and gathering under the directors. Let's not pretend we were great until the invasion.

I respect people's views if they prefer PL status to club identity, and I hope those people repsect my view that identity is far more important than what division we're in.

Why do the Prem lovers/anti protest merchants want us in this cunt league above all else? For another season of more of the same?
Talk about short-sightedness

Re: The Man with the Corner Flat - Paul Colborne
I'm sorry but Burnley were all over us 2nd half, fuck knows what Moysie said to our lot at half time, everyone could see what was going to happen, including Dyche who brought on a striker for a midfielder and won the game. Actually the only person that couldn't see it was going to happen was Moysie who did nothing and we lost 3 zip

Grumpster 11:49 Tue Mar 13
Re: The Man with the Corner Flat - Paul Colborne
We wouldn't have scored if they were still playing!!!

Easy excuse to blame a pitch invader, when in reality all the agro and invading should fire the players up.

Modern players are such poofs.

We weren't coming back into that game unless the ref sent off half their players and we signed Messi, registered him and got him on the pitch after their first.

We lost because we are shit because our shit owners appointed a shit manager.

Protesters were the only positive from the game.

"The people that ran on the pitch cost us the chance of getting back in the game. "

How? We didn't score in the first half with no one on the pitch. Why would we have scored in the second?

Re: The Man with the Corner Flat - Paul Colborne
The people that ran on the pitch cost us the chance of getting back in the game.

I know the corner flag was in reference to the Bond scheme protests but we got relegated that year as well. People forget it was announced at the Liverpool home game and we had just beaten Spurs and Arsenal back to back. It all went downhill once the protests started.

If this carries on for the next 5 home games we WILL go down.

Maybe he thought it was going to be like 92 all over again and have a couple of hundred join him on the pitch to make a statement... but nope... left to fall on his own sword... or corner flag...
